online trading has now become an important characteristic of the modern
internet period. The trading through the internet has become so popular that it
has got the third rank among the
different tasks performed on the internet which is supported by the Email, text
messaging and browsing through the internet. The online trading has become so
common that people give preference to it than watching news and doing other activities
that only people do when they are using the internet. A survey was done in 2001 according to which
48.9 percent of the total users of the internet
perform online trading, indicating that ¾ of the total purchasers have bought 1-10
items every year. When survey was conducted among the new users of the internet
and the people who are well familiar to the internet facilities, the
experienced one bought 20 items through the internet while the new one bought 4
items in the year 2001. The trading though the internet operation which is also
called the buying operation or the shopping process is diverted to the process
of buying different items and getting different facilities through the
internet. The online trading consists of
five steps which may be identical to those associated with the conventional shopping
phenomenon. In the common online trading
phenomenon when prospective buyers concede the need of an item or a facility,
they search for it using the internet facility. But sometimes in order to search
for the appropriate thing, the prospective buyers are provided with the
facility to easily look up for their needs by providing the relevant information. Then the buyers assess
through this information and get the best option for their required needs. At
last the service is bought and service of sale is given. Trading through the internet relates to the
physical and mental behavior of the buyers which performs online trading on the
internet. There has been performed a lot of researches and studies on the
trading through the internet and the behavior and manners of the online buyers
in the past few years. Most of these have tried to elaborate the aspects which
encourage the online trading. The studies show different interpretations and
give different opinions about different aspects. For example the study done by the Case, Burn
shows that the information about the usage of the internet, the income and
knowledge are the important aspects of the online trading. According to a research the students studding
in a university of US, 425 students of the MBA performed the online trading.
According to another study done by Ho and Wu in 1999 there are constructive
relationship among the online trading and five set of characteristics which
include the online shopping stores, planning support, items information,
different technologies , necessary information and the layout of the front
page. The research done but the Schubert studied the important aspects of the digital
trading websites with reference to the information, accord and the bargaining
parameters. It also studied the aspects
which are considered by the online trading population.
